The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Isko Tuovinen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Anssi Olkkonen in the 6th minute of the match. If Santeri Laukkanen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Manu Sairanen blasted a shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Aarne Kananen having to make a save. 10 minutes into the match, Pello's goal looked a bit too open when Tuomo Haarala came free, but Isko Tuovinen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Kabböle FC defense, Manu Sairanen kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Aarne Kananen. The Kabböle FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Aarne Kananen should have stopped the shot. Isko Tuovinen made an important save on a dangerous shot by Aaro Pärssinen in the 17th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tuomo Haarala in the 18th minute of play forced Pello's goalkeeper Isko Tuovinen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Pello's Isko Tuovinen got control of the ball when Aaro Pärssinen tried to sneak it across the goal line. Isko Tuovinen dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. 30 minutes into the match, Kabböle FC's goal looked a bit too open when Manu Sairanen came free, but Aarne Kananen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Isko Tuovinen made a fantastic save in the 31st minute, when Kimi Kuparinen sent off a good shot on target. Isko Tuovinen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tuomo Haarala in the 36th minute of the match. Isko Tuovinen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tuomo Haarala, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tuomo Haarala in the 38th minute of play forced Pello's goalkeeper Isko Tuovinen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Seppo Viitala had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Manu Sairanen blasted a shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Aarne Kananen having to make a save. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Kabböle FC's Aarne Kananen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Manu Sairanen in the 52nd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kimi Kuparinen in the 53rd minute of play forced Pello's goalkeeper Isko Tuovinen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Kabböle FC defense, Manu Sairanen kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Aarne Kananen. The Kabböle FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Aarne Kananen should have stopped the shot. Tapio Virtala hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. In the 61st minute of the match Sampsa Rämö sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Aarne Kananen skillfully saved the ball. Manu Sairanen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 63 minutes, Sulho Sainio managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pello's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sulho Sainio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 66 minutes into the match, Pello's goal looked a bit too open when Aaro Pärssinen came free, but Isko Tuovinen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Pello's Into Lehtinen quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Sipi Eerola, made in the 75th minute of the game. After 75 played minutes, Pello's Into Lehtinen shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Aarne Kananen came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Pello reached it. Pello's Isko Tuovinen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aaro Pärssinen in the 76th minute of play. Isko Tuovinen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aaro Pärssinen, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. In the 79th minute, Pello's Sulho Sainio dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-4. The audience was convinced that Manu Sairanen's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Aarne Kananen was relentless in the 83rd minute of the game. If Sampsa Rämö had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Aarne Kananen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Aarne Kananen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Manu Sairanen in the 96th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tuomo Haarala in the 97th minute of play forced Pello's goalkeeper Isko Tuovinen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Pello's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
