Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Aatu Johansson started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. The audience was convinced that Saku Vanhatalo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Arto Karvonen was relentless in the 3rd minute of the game. Teemu Suoraniemi hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. After recieving a nice pass, Kasklahti's Ensio Hannus tried to score from far away in the 6th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Saku Vanhatalo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Arto Karvonen read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 8th minute of play. In the 17th minute Saku Vanhatalo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arto Karvonen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 18 played minutes Tasavallan Presidentit got a freekick which was hit by Mika Laulaja. Arto Karvonen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Oskari Lotvonen, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. Arto Karvonen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Oskari Lotvonen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match had gone on for 31 minutes, Oskari Lotvonen put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Arto Karvonen. In the 33rd match minute, Tasavallan Presidentit was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Juha Kangasmäki to maneuver through the defense. Saku Vanhatalo struck a weak shot in the 35th minute. Arto Karvonen didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Kasklahti. Tasavallan Presidentit's Arto Karvonen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Saku Vanhatalo in the 44th minute of play. Saku Vanhatalo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Saku Vanhatalo to make the kick off. Kasklahti's Hannu Kaarniemi got a good chance for a goal in the 55th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After having played for 63 minutes, Saku Vanhatalo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Kasklahti's supporters crossed their fingers, but Saku Vanhatalo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Oskari Lotvonen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 66 minutes, Saku Vanhatalo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Kasklahti's supporters crossed their fingers, but Saku Vanhatalo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Oskari Lotvonen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Kasklahti's Torsti Lähteenmäki got a free kick in the 75th minute. In the 79th minute Kari Salo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joonatan Välivaara saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Oskari Lotvonens short, quick shot in the 88thth minute got Arto Karvonen to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Joonatan Välivaara made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aatu Johansson in the 92nd minute of play. If Oskari Lotvonen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 98th minute, Torsti Lähteenmäki hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 99 minutes into the match, Tasavallan Presidentit's Teemu Suoraniemi broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal.
