In the 8thth minute of the game Vesa Hietamäki who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Onterhuhta's Osmo Marttila was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Elias Anttila during the 12th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Osmo Marttila showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aarno Haapala, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Onterhuhta's zone, Vesa Hietamäki stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Osmo Marttila came out of the goal and Vesa Hietamäki tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 23rd minute, Aarno Haapala ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Osmo Marttila was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aarno Haapala in the 30th minute of play forced Onterhuhta's goalkeeper Osmo Marttila to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Kaapo Vainionpää charged in rather forcefully in the 30th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Kaapo Vainionpää the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 29th minute of the game. One of Onterhuhta:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Palosaaren Uimarit:s goal. The referee gave Palosaaren Uimarit a penalty, 32 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Arvo Viitakoski, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Onterhuhta's Osmo Marttila. 0-2. After 35 played minutes Palosaaren Uimarit got a freekick which was hit by Aarno Haapala. After having played for 37 minutes, Jani Karjalainen managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Onterhuhta's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jani Karjalainen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Palosaaren Uimarit's Kari Hakanpää proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 39th minute of the match, managed to save Palosaaren Uimarit from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vesa Hietamäki in the 40th minute of play forced Onterhuhta's goalkeeper Osmo Marttila to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Olavi Sanevuori fell near the penalty area in the 44th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Onterhuhta's protests and gave Olavi Sanevuori a yellow card for diving instead. In the 47th minute Palosaaren Uimarit were awarded a corner. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vesa Hietamäki couldn't finish the play.
