In the 7th minute, one of Fesbra:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Fesbra. The referee gave Halmeniemi IFK a penalty, 10 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Kyösti Glad, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Fesbra's Paavo Moskuvaara. 1-1. Teijo Viisala's late challenge caught a Halmeniemi IFK's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Teijo Viisala helped the player get up and apologised. Teijo Viisala kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Halmeniemi IFK's zone, Ali Peltola stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pauli Eloranta came out of the goal and Ali Peltola tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 20th minute, Teppo Hannukainen managed to get in a good position for a shot. Fesbra's supporters rose to their feet, but Teppo Hannukainen was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pauli Eloranta breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Paavo Moskuvaara took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Topias Ojansuu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ali Peltola stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Teijo Viisala in the 54th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Pauli Eloranta prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ali Peltola got in the 55th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Pauli Eloranta handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. When Väinö Nylund came up free with the goalie in the 56th minute, the Fesbra fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Väinö Nylund couldn't finish the play. Fesbra's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ali Peltola was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Teppo Hannukainen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Topias Ojansuu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 72nd minute of the match, but Paavo Moskuvaara made a huge save. Teijo Viisala fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pauli Eloranta having to interfere. 75 minutes into the match, Halmeniemi IFK's goal looked a bit too open when Teppo Hannukainen came free, but Pauli Eloranta reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 76th minute Teppo Hannukainen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pauli Eloranta saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pauli Eloranta didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Teppo Hannukainen went, in the 77th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-2 was the resulting score. In the 80th minute, Ali Peltola got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Teppo Hannukainen blasted a shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Pauli Eloranta having to make a save. There was no doubt that Fesbra were the better team. Fesbra's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
