Iivo Helenius's late challenge caught a Bossmen's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Iivo Helenius helped the player get up and apologised. After 6 played minutes Eiskola got a freekick which was hit by Iivo Helenius. A collision led to Eiskola getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Ensio Salermo hit a great ball. Jaakob Torkki was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 8th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. When Hemminki Laamanen fell near the penalty area in the 12th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Bossmen's protests and gave Hemminki Laamanen a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Bossmen's Hemminki Laamanen got a free kick in the 12th minute. Miikka Anttila received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Leif Selänne tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Eiskola's Klaus Toivanen got a good chance for a goal in the 17th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Oskari Tikkanen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eero Koistinen having to interfere. Leif Selänne was a little too slow when Aleksanteri Vehanen got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 23rd minute. The score was now 1-0. In the 38th minute, Topias Mantila hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Eero Koistinen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Oskari Tikkanen in the 39th minute of the match. Aleksanteri Vehanen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Miikka Anttila fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leif Selänne having to interfere. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Aleksanteri Vehanen to make the kick off. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Miikka Anttila in the 51st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Leif Selänne prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Miikka Anttila sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Eiskola's zone, Aleksanteri Vehanen stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Leif Selänne came out of the goal and Aleksanteri Vehanen tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Miikka Anttila sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 60 minutes into the match, Eiskola's goal looked a bit too open when Aleksanteri Vehanen came free, but Leif Selänne reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Miikka Anttila's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Leif Selänne read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 61st minute of play. After 62 played minutes Eiskola got a freekick which was hit by Uljas Jansson. After 63 played minutes, Bossmen's Jaakob Torkki shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Leif Selänne came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Bossmen reached it. The supporters of Bossmen booed when Eiskola was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Veli Lindberg didn't get a good kick on the ball. 72 minutes into the game, Bossmen's Aleksanteri Vehanen nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Leif Selänne made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. After a defensive mix-up in Eiskola's zone, Aleksanteri Vehanen stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Leif Selänne came out of the goal and Aleksanteri Vehanen tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Bossmen's Jaakob Torkki couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Eiskola. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aleksanteri Vehanen in the 85th minute of play forced Eiskola's goalkeeper Leif Selänne to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 86th minute, Aleksanteri Vehanen managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bossmen's supporters rose to their feet, but Aleksanteri Vehanen was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Leif Selänne breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Aleksanteri Vehanen in the 89th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Leif Selänne saved Eiskola from getting behind. When Aleksanteri Vehanen came up free with the goalie in the 94th minute, the Bossmen fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Aleksanteri Vehanen couldn't finish the play.
