Spectators: 6100 (Terracing: 4500, Seating: 1500, VIP seats: 100) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Alvar Kallijärvi started the match with the kick off. Seppo Tallqvist received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Veijo Hagelberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Veijo Hagelberg made an important save on a dangerous shot by Yrjö Virolainen in the 12th minute. In the 13th minute, Seppo Tallqvist made a precise shot to the right of Veijo Hagelberg. Manchester City's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. After having played for 23 minutes, Tauno Wahlroos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Manchester City's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tauno Wahlroos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Yrjö Virolainen might have been able to make a better finish in the 25th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Veijo Hagelberg. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Yrjö Virolainen ran back to his position shaking his head. After some fancy dribbling in the 26th minute, Seppo Tallqvist managed to get in a good position for a shot. KESKUSTAN HK's supporters rose to their feet, but Seppo Tallqvist was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Veijo Hagelberg breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Veijo Hagelberg made an important save on a dangerous shot by Yrjö Virolainen in the 27th minute. When KESKUSTAN HK's Seppo Tallqvist in 29 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Veijo Hagelberg guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. In the 30th minute, Yrjö Virolainen got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Tauno Wahlroos blasted a shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Timo Kaukomaa having to make a save. Alvar Kallijärvi scored 1-1 in the 34th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Timo Kaukomaa, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Tauno Wahlroos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 38th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Veijo Hagelberg stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Seppo Tallqvist's shot from short distance in the 40th minute. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Seppo Tallqvist made a kick off. Yrjö Virolainen's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Veijo Hagelberg read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 51st minute of play. Timo Kaukomaa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alvar Kallijärvi in the 59th minute of play. 63 minutes into the game, KESKUSTAN HK's Seppo Tallqvist nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Veijo Hagelberg made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. Timo Kaukomaa was a little too slow when Tauno Wahlroos got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 67th minute. The score was now 2-2. After some fancy dribbling in the 72nd minute, Tauno Wahlroos managed to get in a good position for a shot. Manchester City's supporters rose to their feet, but Tauno Wahlroos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Timo Kaukomaa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Tauno Wahlroos came up free with the goalie in the 78th minute, the Manchester City fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tauno Wahlroos couldn't finish the play. Jyrki Savijoki kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. The supporters of Manchester City booed when KESKUSTAN HK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jyrki Savijoki didn't get a good kick on the ball. Timo Kaukomaa stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Alvar Kallijärvi's shot from short distance in the 84th minute. Alvar Kallijärvi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. KESKUSTAN HK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Manchester City the free kick. Seppo Tallqvist hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. After 96 played minutes Manchester City got a freekick which was hit by Eevert Wahlroos.
