After having played for 12 minutes, Alvar Kärnä managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Diako AC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alvar Kärnä was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 21 minutes into the match, Diako AC's goal looked a bit too open when Aarto Pihlman came free, but Tarmo Kärki reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Blue Mountain State fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Aarto Pihlman in the 32nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tarmo Kärki prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Aki Kotilahti sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Aarto Pihlman had several of the Diako AC's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 51 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 0-2 score and a disappointed Tarmo Kärki as he didn't even see the shot coming. Gervásio Castilho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gabriel Roiha, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tarmo Kärki didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Aarto Pihlman went, in the 56th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. In the 66th match minute, Diako AC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gabriel Roiha to maneuver through the defense. After 68 played minutes Aarto Pihlman rounded Diako AC's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 0-4. In the 75th minute Aarto Pihlman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tarmo Kärki saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Aarto Pihlman struck a weak shot in the 78th minute. Tarmo Kärki didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Blue Mountain State. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 96 played minutes Diako AC got a freekick which was hit by Eelis Nyrhinen. When the final whistle sounded Blue Mountain State left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Diako AC.
