Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Pekko Tuomisalo started the match with the kick off. If Jonni Henriksson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Petri Petsamo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Santeri Heikkinen, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Pekko Tuomisalo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Karankamäki's supporters rose to their feet, but Pekko Tuomisalo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Olavi Kaikkonen breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Sami Kärkkäinen during the 30th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 30 played minutes Puujas got a freekick which was hit by Sami Kärkkäinen. Pekko Tuomisalo was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 32nd minute. Karankamäki's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. 33 minutes into the match, Karankamäki's goal looked a bit too open when Pirkka Vesanen came free, but Petri Petsamo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 35 minutes into the match Kullervo Valkealahti climbed in front of goal and pressed up 2-0 in the right cross behind a totally surprised Olavi Kaikkonen. After 40 minutes, Topias Turunen mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Karankamäki and the Puujas players grew even worse after the yellow card. Aarto Turpeinen placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! When the match had gone on for 47 minutes, Kullervo Valkealahti took a quick shot and it went in 3-0 without a chance for Olavi Kaikkonen to make any attempt to save it.

Kullervo Valkealahti sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some careless play in the Puujas defense, Pekko Tuomisalo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Olavi Kaikkonen. The Puujas fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Olavi Kaikkonen should have stopped the shot. Pirkka Vesanen's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Petri Petsamo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 59th minute of play. After 67 minutes, Henri Kultanen mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Puujas and the Karankamäki players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Puujas getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Henri Kultanen hit a great ball. Pekko Tuomisalo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Olavi Kaikkonen read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 68th minute of play. Kullervo Valkealahti sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Karankamäki's Petri Petsamo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 76th minute of the match, managed to save Karankamäki from getting a goal against them. In the 76th match minute, Puujas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pirkka Vesanen to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Puujas's zone, Kimmo Manninen stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Olavi Kaikkonen came out of the goal and Kimmo Manninen tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Pekko Tuomisalo in the 81st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Olavi Kaikkonen saved Puujas from getting behind. After some fancy dribbling in the 85th minute, Pekko Tuomisalo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Karankamäki's supporters rose to their feet, but Pekko Tuomisalo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. The referee ignored Karankamäki's protests and gave Heikki Kurri a yellow card for diving instead. Heikki Kurri hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match.
