The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Eevert Kyrönlahti came up free with the goalie in the 4th minute, the Kylänlahti fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eevert Kyrönlahti couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Miika Huhtiniemi in the 10th minute of play forced Kylänlahti's goalkeeper Tapio Enola to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Reko Reinikainen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jarkko Puhakainen during the 15th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Ahmovaara's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Eevert Kyrönlahti 17 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-0. Arvo Nieminen made a fantastic save in the 20th minute, when Simo Karjalainen sent off a good shot on target. In the 22nd minute of the match Kylänlahti got a corner. Ahmovaara's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Jalmari Rautee ran over to the corner to take the kick. Arvo Nieminen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eevert Kyrönlahti in the 39th minute of the match. With a little luck, Ahmovaara's Arvo Nieminen got control of the ball when Simo Karjalainen tried to sneak it across the goal line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Eevert Kyrönlahti stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Eevert Kyrönlahti ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Arvo Nieminen was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. If Eevert Kyrönlahti had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Simo Karjalainen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arvo Nieminen having to interfere. Aaro Uusipaavalniemi's late challenge caught a Kylänlahti's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Aaro Uusipaavalniemi helped the player get up and apologised. Aaro Uusipaavalniemi hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. In the 81st minute Eevert Kyrönlahti shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arvo Nieminen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 85th minute, Reko Reinikainen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Arvo Nieminen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eevert Kyrönlahti, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Kylänlahti were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Ahmovaara for a fine match.
