When Kyljys's Heimo Rahikainen in the 12th minute got a chance for a shot 12th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Real Madrid's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kaarlo Puranen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ylermi Peltola sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 29 minutes into the match, Ukko Helkamo dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Aarni Vainio, 1-0. Jouni Seikola recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 32nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Kyljys getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Pekka Jokiranta hit a great ball. 37 minutes into the match, Kyljys's goal looked a bit too open when Jouni Seikola came free, but Herkko Gustafsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ukko Helkamo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aarni Vainio having to interfere. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Kaarlo Puranen made the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kaarlo Puranen in the 55th minute of play forced Kyljys's goalkeeper Herkko Gustafsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Eerik Levokari kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. Herkko Gustafsson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kaarlo Puranen in the 58th minute of the match. Jouni Seikola scored 1-1 in the 62nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Herkko Gustafsson, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Heimo Rahikainen in the 70th minute of play forced Real Madrid's goalkeeper Aarni Vainio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Herkko Gustafsson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jouni Seikola in the 72nd minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jouni Seikola got free with Herkko Gustafsson in the 78th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Heimo Rahikainen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Aarni Vainio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Heimo Rahikainen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 93rd minute, Heimo Rahikainen managed to get in a good position for a shot. Kyljys's supporters rose to their feet, but Heimo Rahikainen was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Aarni Vainio breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
