Spectators: 7741 (Terracing: 5807, Seating: 1780, VIP seats: 154) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Tapani Lehterä started the match with the kick off. With a little luck, Porkanranta's Kari Kaski got control of the ball when Eero Nielikäinen tried to sneak it across the goal line. Eero Nielikäinen who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 6thth minute tested the skills of Kari Kaski when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Kari Kaski made an important save on a dangerous shot by Eero Nielikäinen in the 15th minute. After some careless play in the Porkanranta defense, Eero Nielikäinen kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Kari Kaski. The Porkanranta fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Kari Kaski should have stopped the shot. From close distance Eero Nielikäinen pressed in the 2-0 goal high up into nets stiches in the right cross 28 minutes into the game. Eero Nielikäinen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kari Kaski having to interfere. Veijo Harinen recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Kari Kaski made an important save on a dangerous shot by Eero Nielikäinen in the 35th minute. Kari Kaski came out of the goal in the 38th minute to try and stop a shot by Haukkavaaral IFK's Eero Nielikäinen. But to his dismay, Eero Nielikäinen quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tapani Lehterä in the 43rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jaakkima Hassinen prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Jorma Koivula had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Eero Nielikäinen to make the kick off. The Haukkavaaral IFK fans' excitement grew in the 52nd match minute when Haukkavaaral IFK's Eero Nielikäinen looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 4-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After 55 played minutes Haukkavaaral IFK got a freekick which was hit by Lassi Seppo. Kari Kaski took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Veijo Harinen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Kari Kaski didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Haukkavaaral IFK's Eero Nielikäinen shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 5-0 in the ordered_time% minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Eero Nielikäinen in the 66th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Kari Kaski prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Kari Kaski took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eero Nielikäinen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Kari Kaski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eero Nielikäinen in the 75th minute of play. Eero Nielikäinen's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Kari Kaski read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 76th minute of play. After having played for 78 minutes, Veijo Harinen managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Haukkavaaral IFK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Veijo Harinen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some careless play in the Porkanranta defense, Eero Nielikäinen kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Kari Kaski. The Porkanranta fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Kari Kaski should have stopped the shot. Porkanranta were furious when Tatu Sairanen was red carded, 84 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. Haukkavaaral IFK's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
