Eerik Hagelberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aapo Nybacka, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Veikka Rahkola had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Aapo Nybacka received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Eerik Hagelberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 46 played minutes Malmsby got a freekick which was hit by Veikka Rahkola. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Veikka Rahkola to make the kick off. Heikki Hati's late challenge caught a Malmsby's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Heikki Hati helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Malmsby booed when Tampereen palloveikot was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Heikki Hati didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 55th minute the ball was on its way in behind Malmsby's goalkeeper Eerik Hagelberg, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Aapo Nybacka's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Eerik Hagelberg read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 57th minute of play. In the 62nd match minute, Tampereen palloveikot was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Teijo Huppunen to maneuver through the defense. In the 65th minute, Severi Järventaus hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 68 minutes into the game, one of Malmsby:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The referee gave Tampereen palloveikot a penalty, 70 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Toimi Tallus, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Malmsby's Eerik Hagelberg. 1-0. Antti Palonen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Veli Ihanamäki in the 74th minute of the match. Malmsby's Eerik Hagelberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kari Haanpää in the 79th minute of play. In the 81stth minute of the game Veikka Rahkola who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Tampereen palloveikot's Antti Palonen was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Esa Elomo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
