Jyrki Latvala's late challenge caught a Tikkurilan Palloseura's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jyrki Latvala helped the player get up and apologised. After 12 played minutes FC Reserve got a freekick which was hit by Jyrki Latvala. Robert Järventaus made an important save on a dangerous shot by Risto Immonen in the 15th minute. If Vesa Kinnunen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 21st minute of the match Isto Toivonen sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Robert Järventaus skillfully saved the ball. Manne Loikala hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. Vesa Kinnunen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. The FC Reserve fans' excitement grew in the 33rd match minute when FC Reserve's Risto Immonen looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The audience was convinced that Risto Immonen's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Robert Järventaus was relentless in the 56th minute of the game. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Antti Korkeakoski during the 62nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card.
