The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Iivo Riihijärvi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ossi Tuuri in the 3rd minute of play. Iivo Riihijärvi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jori Niinimäki, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 13 minutes, Ossi Tuuri managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Käyrälä's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ossi Tuuri was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Eemeli Ikola kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. In the 17th minute, Ossi Tuuri ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Iivo Riihijärvi was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. In the 20th match minute, Käyrälä was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ari Mikkola to maneuver through the defense. In the 22nd minute, Käyrälä's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Sakari Alanko fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Thanks to some nice moves Rauli Haapaporras could shoot a difficult shot in the 30th minute, which Viljo Kauppinen however easily saved by the left post. Viljo Kauppinen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sakari Alanko in the 32nd minute of play. Viljo Kauppinen acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 39th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Eelis Uusitalo. When Valto Hietaharju fell near the penalty area in the 41st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Kätkä IFK's protests and gave Valto Hietaharju a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Kätkä IFK getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Valto Hietaharju hit a great ball.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Sakari Alanko stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 54thth minute of the game Sakari Alanko who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Käyrälä's Viljo Kauppinen was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Rauli Haapaporras sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 65 minutes, Rauli Haapaporras managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Kätkä IFK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rauli Haapaporras was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Kätkä IFK's Sakari Alanko got a good chance for a goal in the 66th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 71st minute, Jori Niinimäki got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jori Niinimäki's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 73rdth minute, Iivo Riihijärvi skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 76th minute, Sakari Alanko managed to get in a good position for a shot. Kätkä IFK's supporters rose to their feet, but Sakari Alanko was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Viljo Kauppinen breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Sakari Alanko struck a weak shot in the 82nd minute. Viljo Kauppinen didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Kätkä IFK. Valto Hietaharju received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Viljo Kauppinen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Although Kätkä IFK had been in control for most of the match, Käyrälä still came away with the win.
