Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Petteri Hakanen made the kick off in the second half. Petri Lehtimäki showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Touko Kärnä in the 55th minute of the match. Vilppu Puumala fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eero Pylkäs having to interfere. 62 minutes into the match, Kärpät's goal looked a bit too open when Petteri Hakanen came free, but Petri Lehtimäki reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Petteri Hakanen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Petri Lehtimäki tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to FC Rantsus Tigers getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Valdemar Puutio hit a great ball. Sami Niinimaa could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 69th minute of the match, but Eero Pylkäs made a huge save. In the 81st match minute, Kärpät was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jori Sjögren to maneuver through the defense. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jori Sjögren during the 84th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 84 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. FC Rantsus Tigers's supporters crossed their fingers, but Petteri Hakanen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. FC Rantsus Tigers were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
