Risto Hotakainen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lasse Kuparinen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 12 played minutes Kronoby got a freekick which was hit by Jimi Rantamäki. Lasse Kuparinen kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. Risto Mäki could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 18th minute of the match, but Eerik Latvanen made a huge save. Risto Hotakainen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lasse Kuparinen, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Risto Mäki got free with Eerik Latvanen in the 23rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Risto Mäki recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 25th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 31 played minutes Kronoby got a freekick which was hit by Aaron Raninen. Jimi Rantamäki recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Lasse Kuparinen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Risto Hotakainen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 48th minute, Lasse Kuparinen got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

After having played for 57 minutes, Jimi Rantamäki managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Kronoby's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jimi Rantamäki was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 58 minutes into the match, Risto Mäki had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Eerik Latvanen. FCW's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Risto Mäki was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. With a little luck, Kronoby's Risto Hotakainen got control of the ball when Touko Sulonen tried to sneak it across the goal line. Lasse Kuparinen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Lasse Kuparinen blasted a shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Risto Hotakainen having to make a save. If Lasse Kuparinen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Touko Sulonen could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 95th minute of the match, but Risto Hotakainen made a huge save. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
