Kerälä's Marko Vihermäki played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jyrki Pietilä in the 14th minute of play. The supporters of Koivulahti IFK booed when Kerälä was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tarvo Törmänen didn't get a good kick on the ball. Raine Sulku made a fantastic save in the 18th minute, when Topias Siivonen sent off a good shot on target. Kerälä were furious when Petteri Latvala was red carded, 20 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In a very dangerous position, a player in Kerälä fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 20th minute. Penalty! Marko Vihermäki had in the 22ndth minute some difficulties stopping Konstantin Hyökyvaara's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. After 27 minutes, Heikki Myllylä mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Koivulahti IFK and the Kerälä players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 27 played minutes Koivulahti IFK got a freekick which was hit by Heikki Myllylä. A wasted opportunity for Kerälä. 44 minutes into the match, Kerälä's Ossi Reimari sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Raine Sulku narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Tarvo Törmänen recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 46th minute, Oliver Kujanpää hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.

In the 58th minute Ossi Reimari shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Raine Sulku saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jonni Rantanen kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ossi Reimari in the 63rd minute of play forced Koivulahti IFK's goalkeeper Raine Sulku to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 64th minute, Tarvo Törmänen got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ossi Reimari recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 66th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Marko Vihermäki made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jonni Rantanen in the 71st minute of play. When Ossi Reimari came up free with the goalie in the 78th minute, the Kerälä fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ossi Reimari couldn't finish the play. Marko Vihermäki didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jonni Rantanen went, in the 80th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. In the 87th minute the ball was on its way in behind Koivulahti IFK's goalkeeper Raine Sulku, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar.
