The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Joakim Alenius during the 7th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Mennää FC getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Joakim Alenius hit a great ball. The audience was convinced that Rainer Andersson's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Petri Blomberg was relentless in the 9th minute of the game. When Rainer Andersson came up free with the goalie in the 12th minute, the Saukoski FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rainer Andersson couldn't finish the play. If Joakim Alenius had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 20 minutes into the game, Torsti Kaukonen was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Saukoski FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mennää FC the free kick. In a very dangerous position, a player in Saukoski FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 19th minute. Penalty! Jari Pakaslahti made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sulho Lätti in the 31st minute of play. Jari Pakaslahti came out of the goal in the 38th minute to try and stop a shot by Mennää FC's Joakim Alenius. But to his dismay, Joakim Alenius quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. After some fancy dribbling in the 44th minute, Rainer Andersson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Saukoski FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Rainer Andersson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Petri Blomberg breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Joakim Alenius to strike the kick off in the second half. Aatami Harjanne fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Petri Blomberg having to interfere. Joakim Alenius struck a weak shot in the 69th minute. Jari Pakaslahti didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mennää FC. Aatami Harjanne sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Petri Blomberg came out of the goal in the 78th minute to try and stop a shot by Saukoski FC's Aatami Harjanne. But to his dismay, Aatami Harjanne quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. After 81 minutes, Joonas Mattila mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Saukoski FC and the Mennää FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Silvo Uusiniemi's late challenge caught a Saukoski FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Silvo Uusiniemi helped the player get up and apologised. In the 84th minute, Silvo Uusiniemi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Mennää FC's zone, Aatami Harjanne stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Petri Blomberg came out of the goal and Aatami Harjanne tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Joakim Alenius fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jari Pakaslahti having to interfere.
