Spectators: 7033 (Terracing: 5109, Seating: 1771, VIP seats: 153) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Tomi Eskelinen took the kick off in the first half of the match. After having played for 3 minutes, Kaj Selänne managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Karhukorpi's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kaj Selänne was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Arsi Siren took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomi Eskelinen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Kosti Wallen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arsi Siren having to interfere. Valto Räsänen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jani Viinikainen in the 13th minute of play. After 15 played minutes Königsberg Knights got a freekick which was hit by Valdemar Saarelainen. Valto Räsänen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jani Viinikainen in the 18th minute of the match. In the 20th minute, Veikka Koskenkorva got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Karhukorpi's Kaj Selänne was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 22nd play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. 26 minutes into the match, Valdemar Saarelainen notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Karhukorpi's Arsi Siren. Arsi Siren was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. A collision led to Königsberg Knights getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Kosti Wallen hit a great ball. Arsi Siren didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Tomi Eskelinen went, in the 34th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. Karhukorpi's Arsi Siren played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomi Eskelinen in the 41st minute of play. Valto Räsänen didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 44th minute, which inside left pole to 2-2. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jani Viinikainen made a kick off. Tomi Eskelinen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Arsi Siren tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Tomi Eskelinen came up free with the goalie in the 55th minute, the Königsberg Knights fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tomi Eskelinen couldn't finish the play. Königsberg Knights's Valto Räsänen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kaj Selänne in the 58th minute of play. After 64 played minutes Königsberg Knights got a freekick which was hit by Rauno Immonen. If Kaj Selänne had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 69 minutes into the match, Königsberg Knights's goal looked a bit too open when Jani Viinikainen came free, but Valto Räsänen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 71st minute Kaj Selänne shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Valto Räsänen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Arsi Siren made a fantastic save in the 76th minute, when Veikka Koskenkorva sent off a good shot on target. Karhukorpi's Kaj Selänne got a good chance for a goal in the 82nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After having played for 86 minutes, Kaj Selänne managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Karhukorpi's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kaj Selänne was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 95th minute of the game. One of Karhukorpi:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Königsberg Knights:s goal. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Königsberg Knights eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
