Tenho Huttunen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Uuno Eronen having to interfere. If Kari Lumijärvi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kari Lumijärvi in the 34th minute of play forced FC VIETKONG's goalkeeper Mauno Leppiniemi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to FC VIETKONG getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Juha Kaipainen hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Viljo Ristilä got free with Mauno Leppiniemi in the 39th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Uuno Eronen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rami Peltoniemi in the 44th minute of the match. If Viljo Ristilä had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Rami Peltoniemi to strike the kick off in the second half. Viljo Ristilä fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mauno Leppiniemi having to interfere. Kari Lumijärvi struck a weak shot in the 66th minute. Mauno Leppiniemi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Pajasalmi IFK. After 70 played minutes FC VIETKONG got a freekick which was hit by Juha Kaipainen. Erno Marttila's late challenge caught a FC VIETKONG's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Erno Marttila helped the player get up and apologised. After 77 played minutes Pajasalmi IFK got a freekick which was hit by Erno Marttila. Uuno Eronen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rami Peltoniemi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ukko Kuusiniemi hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. Viljo Ristilä fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mauno Leppiniemi having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rami Peltoniemi in the 90th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Uuno Eronen saved Pajasalmi IFK from getting behind. 95 minutes into the game, Ari Liimatainen was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Pajasalmi IFK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC VIETKONG the free kick. Rami Peltoniemi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal.
