Alpo Lyytikäinen charged in rather forcefully in the 3rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Alpo Lyytikäinen the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Rovevaara FC getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Alpo Lyytikäinen hit a great ball. The supporters of Rovevaara FC booed when Pajasalmi IFK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kaj Kopola didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ville Palo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Uuno Eronen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kari Lumijärvi in the 14th minute of play forced Rovevaara FC's goalkeeper Mauno Hannula to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Pajasalmi IFK defense, Ville Palo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Uuno Eronen. The Pajasalmi IFK fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Uuno Eronen should have stopped the shot. Mauno Hannula showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kari Lumijärvi in the 22nd minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 26th minute, Ville Palo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Rovevaara FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Ville Palo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Uuno Eronen breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Rovevaara FC booed when Pajasalmi IFK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Erno Marttila didn't get a good kick on the ball. Uuno Eronen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jouni Lepistö in the 29th minute of the match. 30 minutes into the game, Ville Palo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Uuno Eronen was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Uuno Eronen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jouni Lepistö, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jouni Lepistö blasted a shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Uuno Eronen having to make a save. When Kari Lumijärvi came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the Pajasalmi IFK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kari Lumijärvi couldn't finish the play. In the 41st minute Ville Palo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Uuno Eronen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jouni Lepistö received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Uuno Eronen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 45 minutes of play, Rovevaara FC's Ville Palo made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Uuno Eronen was left in no man's land by his defense there! Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

Ville Palo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Uuno Eronen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpected shot in the 57th minute by Jouni Lepistö got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Viljo Ristilä received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Mauno Hannula tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rovevaara FC's Mauno Hannula played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kari Lumijärvi in the 62nd minute of play. 67 minutes into the match, Rovevaara FC's goal looked a bit too open when Viljo Ristilä came free, but Mauno Hannula reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 69th minute, Kari Lumijärvi got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jouni Lepistö struck a weak shot in the 72nd minute. Uuno Eronen didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Rovevaara FC. In the 74th minute, Erno Marttila hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ville Palo in the 76th minute of play forced Pajasalmi IFK's goalkeeper Uuno Eronen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After recieving a nice pass, Rovevaara FC's Atso Kamppunen tried to score from far away in the 79th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Mauno Hannula made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Viljo Ristilä in the 82nd minute of play. Kari Lumijärvi took the ball and in the 91 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Mauno Hannula. Mauno Hannula dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3.
