Eelis Laurila came out of the goal and Kaleva Puurula tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jeremias Haapala recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Elmeri Kuusinen to make the kick off. After a rather tough play, YoungHäyhä's Jyrki Lajunen got a free kick in the 54th minute. The supporters of Turun Tanakka booed when YoungHäyhä was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tapani Jokela didn't get a good kick on the ball. Eelis Laurila took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tapani Jokela, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. YoungHäyhä's Isko Nikko played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jalmari Vikström in the 74th minute of play. When Johannes Helavuori fell near the penalty area in the 77th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored YoungHäyhä's protests and gave Johannes Helavuori a yellow card for diving instead.
