Without hesitation aimed to the right of Esa Alin, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Ylermi Markkula fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valtteri Tallqvist having to interfere. Niilo Kopelmo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Esa Alin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. EBK's Esa Alin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ossi Kaarniemi in the 9th minute of play. In the 14th minute, Höjdbackens IF's Niilo Kopelmo ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Esa Alin. Esa Alin yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Niilo Kopelmo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Esa Alin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 18th minute, Ossi Kaarniemi made a precise shot to the right of Esa Alin. EBK's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. Ossi Kaarniemi scored 3-0 in the 31st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Esa Alin, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Niilo Kopelmo in the 48th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Esa Alin saved EBK from getting behind.

EBK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Höjdbackens IF the free kick. Eero Möksy shot the penalty kick right outside the post. In the 87th minute, Hemminki Hevonkorpi reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Valtteri Tallqvist. The goal made the score 3-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 90th minute, Hemminki Hevonkorpi managed to get in a good position for a shot. EBK's supporters rose to their feet, but Hemminki Hevonkorpi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Valtteri Tallqvist breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Höjdbackens IF's Joel Alatalo got a good chance for a goal in the 94th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Esa Alin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Teuvo Norrena in the 98th minute of play. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Höjdbackens IF fans cheered their team off the field, for while EBK had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
