In the 11th minute Eemil Timonen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pietari Kurri saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 18th minute of the match, Leif Ryynänen got a very nice opportunity to score, but Pietari Kurri was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 32 minutes into the match, Tikkakoski's goalkeeper Pietari Kurri had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Leif Ryynänen. 33 minutes into the game, Eemil Timonen recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Pietari Kurri. Eemil Timonen showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. After a defensive mix-up in Tikkakoski's zone, Eemil Timonen stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pietari Kurri came out of the goal and Eemil Timonen tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Tikkakoski's defense didn't have a chance, in the 44th minute, when Leif Ryynänen scored to the left of an out of position Pietari Kurri, making the score, 2-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Aarto Jokela made a kick off. Eemil Timonen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Marko Heikkinen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Jarkko Poikolainen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as Tikkakoski's Aarto Jokela slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Jarkko Poikolainen. That made the score 2-1 after 58 minutes of play. Marko Heikkinen struck a weak shot in the 64th minute. Jarkko Poikolainen didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Tikkakoski. Eemil Timonen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pietari Kurri having to interfere.
