Spectators: 6766 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1766, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Eemil Timonen kicked off to start the match. Esa Alin stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Eemil Timonen's shot from short distance in the 6th minute. Leif Ryynänen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Esa Alin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eemil Timonen in the 9th minute of play forced EBK's goalkeeper Esa Alin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 14 played minutes, Kemi's Miikka Okkonen shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Esa Alin came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Kemi reached it. Kemi's Eemil Timonen got a good chance for a goal in the 17th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Ylermi Markkula fell near the penalty area in the 19th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored EBK's protests and gave Ylermi Markkula a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to EBK getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Ylermi Markkula hit a great ball. After recieving a nice pass, Kemi's Miikka Okkonen tried to score from far away in the 20th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Esa Alin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leif Ryynänen in the 21st minute of play. EBK's Esa Alin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eemil Timonen in the 25th minute of play. 28 minutes into the match, EBK's goal looked a bit too open when Leif Ryynänen came free, but Esa Alin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Esa Alin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eemil Timonen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Raino Sauso charged in rather forcefully in the 35th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Raino Sauso the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 35th minute, Raino Sauso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 47 minutes, Sakari Ojansuu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Kemi and the EBK players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 47th match minute, Kemi was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sakari Ojansuu to maneuver through the defense. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Veli Helin stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A collision led to EBK getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Ylermi Markkula hit a great ball. Eemil Timonen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Eemil Timonen in the 55th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Esa Alin saved EBK from getting behind. An unexpected shot in the 58th minute by Leif Ryynänen got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. The crowd rose to their feet as Eemil Timonen kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Esa Alin. That made the score 0-1 in the 60 minute of play. Leif Ryynänen who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 63rdth minute tested the skills of Esa Alin when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 67 minutes into the match, Hemminki Hevonkorpi notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Kemi's Jarkko Poikolainen. Jarkko Poikolainen was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After a defensive mix-up in EBK's zone, Eemil Timonen stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Esa Alin came out of the goal and Eemil Timonen tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Esa Alin made a fantastic save in the 72nd minute, when Leif Ryynänen sent off a good shot on target. A collision led to EBK getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Hemminki Hevonkorpi hit a great ball. In the 76th minute, Veli Helin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 79th minute of the match Kemi got a corner. EBK's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Miikka Okkonen ran over to the corner to take the kick. Leif Ryynänen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Esa Alin having to interfere. Hemminki Hevonkorpi charged in rather forcefully in the 84th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Hemminki Hevonkorpi the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to EBK getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Hemminki Hevonkorpi hit a great ball. Sakari Ojansuu hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. If Eemil Timonen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kemi were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing EBK to leave the ground with a draw.
