Markku Karhunen's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jarkko Poikolainen read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 12th minute of play. After having played for 15 minutes, Kimi Kenig managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pokaalinmetsästäjät's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kimi Kenig was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Sakari Ojansuu charged in rather forcefully in the 46th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Sakari Ojansuu the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 48th minute, one of Kemi:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Kemi. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Eemil Timonen made a kick off. Kimi Kenig might have been able to make a better finish in the 55th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jarkko Poikolainen. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Kimi Kenig ran back to his position shaking his head. Pokaalinmetsästäjät's Topias Holtti proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 63rd minute of the match, managed to save Pokaalinmetsästäjät from getting a goal against them. Eemil Timonen scored 2-1 in the 64th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Topias Holtti, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Leif Ryynänen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Topias Holtti having to interfere. Topias Holtti made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eemil Timonen in the 71st minute of play. Jarkko Poikolainen didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Markku Karhunen went, in the 74th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-1 was the resulting score. Eemil Timonen received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Topias Holtti came out and tried to block the shot, but Eemil Timonen slotted it home off the left post making it 3-2 in the 78th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Kemi's Eemil Timonen slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Topias Holtti. That made the score 3-3 after 83 minutes of play. Pokaalinmetsästäjät's Topias Holtti played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eemil Timonen in the 87th minute of play. Leif Ryynänen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Topias Holtti having to interfere. Eemil Timonen received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. The supporters of Pokaalinmetsästäjät booed when Kemi was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 97 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vesa Hautaniemi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Kemi's Sakari Ojansuu got his second yellow card of the match in the 100th minute. The referee ordered Sakari Ojansuu off the ground. The supporters of Pokaalinmetsästäjät booed when Kemi was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 101 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sakari Ojansuu didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Kemi eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
