The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Kimi Porokara during the 8th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 8 played minutes FC Hupiukot got a freekick which was hit by Kimi Porokara. In the 11th minute Jeremias Kuokkanen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Erno Kangasmäki saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Erno Kangasmäki made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jani Kananen in the 14th minute of play. 16 minutes into the match, Tuomioja's goal looked a bit too open when Jussi Palander came free, but Teuvo Blomquist reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 18th minute, Alpi Salmela hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Erno Kangasmäki showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jani Kananen in the 23rd minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jussi Palander in the 25th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Teuvo Blomquist saved Tuomioja from getting behind. FC Hupiukot's Alpi Salmela got his second yellow card of the match in the 26th minute. The referee ordered Alpi Salmela off the ground. A collision led to FC Hupiukot getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Alpi Salmela hit a great ball. 29 minutes into the game, one of FC Hupiukot:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Tuomioja were awarded a corner in the 33th minute after FC Hupiukot's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Erkki Hurme took the corner. A well-hit corner resulted in Albert Viitala heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. After a rather tough play, FC Hupiukot's Hemminki Katila got a free kick in the 41st minute. Jan Tuominen scored 0-1 in the 43rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Erno Kangasmäki, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 46 minutes, Hemminki Katila mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC Hupiukot and the Tuomioja players grew even worse after the yellow card. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Hemminki Katila to make the kick off. Urho Suominen's late challenge caught a Tuomioja's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Urho Suominen helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, FC Hupiukot's Urho Suominen got a free kick in the 55th minute. Heikki Grahn fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Teuvo Blomquist having to interfere. Jani Kananen could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 65th minute of the match, but Erno Kangasmäki made a huge save. After some fancy dribbling in the 66th minute, Kaarle Jämsä managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Hupiukot's supporters rose to their feet, but Kaarle Jämsä was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Teuvo Blomquist breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Kimi Porokara fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Teuvo Blomquist having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jeremias Kuokkanen in the 72nd minute of play forced FC Hupiukot's goalkeeper Erno Kangasmäki to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 73rd minute, Urho Suominen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 75 minutes into the match, FC Hupiukot's goal looked a bit too open when Jeremias Kuokkanen came free, but Erno Kangasmäki reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hemminki Katila in the 81st minute of play forced Tuomioja's goalkeeper Teuvo Blomquist to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. FC Hupiukot's defense didn't have a chance, in the 82nd minute, when Nuutti Paappanen scored to the left of an out of position Erno Kangasmäki, making the score, 0-2. Tuomioja's Albert Viitala got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpected shot in the 93rd minute by Jani Kananen got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Tuomioja had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
