The referee ignored Utsjoen Pallo's protests and gave Daavid Vehmanen a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Utsjoen Pallo getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Daavid Vehmanen hit a great ball. 6 minutes into the match, Utsjoen Pallo's goalkeeper Esa Lehtinen had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Seppo Hagelberg. Heikki Grönholm struck a weak shot in the 7th minute. Jalmari Grahn didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Utsjoen Pallo. Heikki Grönholm sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 17 played minutes Nilosvaara got a freekick which was hit by Paavo Lepistö. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ari Eloranta got free with Esa Lehtinen in the 25th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Heikki Grönholm fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jalmari Grahn having to interfere. 34 minutes into the game, Utsjoen Pallo's Daavid Vehmanen nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jalmari Grahn made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Vesa Alin kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. Yrjänä Ilola took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 46th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Jalmari Grahn. Nilosvaara's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After having played for 48 minutes, Daavid Vehmanen managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Utsjoen Pallo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daavid Vehmanen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

In the 61st minute, Yrjänä Ilola sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Nilosvaara's Jalmari Grahn didn't even have to move. Utsjoen Pallo's Daavid Vehmanen got a good chance for a goal in the 63rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ari Eloranta received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Esa Lehtinen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 72nd minute, Ari Eloranta ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Esa Lehtinen was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. In the 75th minute, Seppo Hagelberg got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 78th minute Seppo Hagelberg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Esa Lehtinen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Seppo Hagelberg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Esa Lehtinen came out of the goal in the 87th minute to try and stop a shot by Nilosvaara's Seppo Hagelberg. But to his dismay, Seppo Hagelberg quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Esa Lehtinen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Seppo Hagelberg in the 93rd minute of play. Nilosvaara's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
