Kauko Mansikkamäki's late challenge caught a Hirslahti FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Kauko Mansikkamäki helped the player get up and apologised. Kauko Mansikkamäki hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. Viksgård's Friedbert Bähner played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Klaus Roihuvuori in the 11th minute of play. In the 16th minute Alvi Ollonen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Friedbert Bähner saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pentti Lätti made a fantastic save in the 19th minute, when Pekko Sainio sent off a good shot on target. Keijo Markkula did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-0 to the left of a surprised Pentti Lätti 19 minutes into the match. With a little luck, Hirslahti FC's Pentti Lätti got control of the ball when Petteri Karvonen tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 35th minute of the match Unto Perälä shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Friedbert Bähner showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 35th minute, Keijo Markkula ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Pentti Lätti was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. Friedbert Bähner showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jukka-Pekka Sulku, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Vilho Karalahti during the 45th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 44th minute, one of Viksgård:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Viksgård. Viksgård:s Friedbert Bähner showed great skill when he stopped Unto Perälä:s penalty. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

Keijo Markkula struck a weak shot in the 56th minute. Pentti Lätti didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Viksgård. Friedbert Bähner showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alvi Ollonen in the 62nd minute of the match. In the 62nd match minute, Viksgård was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vilho Karalahti to maneuver through the defense. When Viksgård's Keijo Markkula in the 71st minute got a chance for a shot 71st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Hirslahti FC's goalie prevented a goal. When the match clock showed 73 minutes, the score became 3-0 when Keijo Markkula sped through Hirslahti FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Pentti Lätti. Keijo Markkula might have been able to make a better finish in the 85th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Pentti Lätti. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Keijo Markkula ran back to his position shaking his head. Hirslahti FC's Pentti Lätti played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Keijo Markkula in the 87th minute of play. During the 91st minute of the match Vilho Karalahti completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Vilho Karalahti a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Vilho Karalahti hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Viksgård had won after a very even match.
