The wind increased when Mauno Tuomisaari made the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Nurmela IFK's zone, Mauno Kaven stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Esa Jokila came out of the goal and Mauno Kaven tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jonni Rahikainen in the 56th minute of play forced Nurmela IFK's goalkeeper Esa Jokila to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 63 minutes into the game, Ilppo Hilden was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Nurmela IFK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Potku-Pallo-Kerho the free kick. In the 63rd match minute, Nurmela IFK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ilppo Hilden to maneuver through the defense. Auno Vapaniemi could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 97th minute of the match, but Osmo Pyhältö made a huge save.
