The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Niinivesi's Herman Tammisto proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 79th minute of the match, managed to save Niinivesi from getting a goal against them. Pasi Kinnunen kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. After having played for 88 minutes, Vesa Kaipainen managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Zenit's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vesa Kaipainen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 96 minutes into the game, Teemu Santala recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Herman Tammisto. Teemu Santala showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-2. The Niinivesi manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing FC Zenit to win.
