After 4 played minutes, Tunderi's Petri Kuusela shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Joonatan Lindberg came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Tunderi reached it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Teemu Santala in the 7th minute of play forced Tunderi's goalkeeper Aleksanteri Asukka to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Tuukka Puikkonen fell near the penalty area in the 9th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Tunderi's protests and gave Tuukka Puikkonen a yellow card for diving instead. Aleksanteri Asukka acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 10th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Vesa Kaipainen. In the 12thth minute of the game Asmo Sorsa who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Tunderi's Aleksanteri Asukka was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Joonatan Lindberg didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Aatu Paananen went, in the 14th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Ernesti Lotvonen succeeded in the game's 19th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-2. If Asmo Sorsa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Aleksanteri Asukka showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Teemu Santala, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. If Aatu Paananen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 39 minutes in the game, Asmo Sorsa fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Aleksanteri Asukka having to interfere. Tunderi's Ernesti Lotvonen got a good chance for a goal in the 46th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Teemu Santala stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 59th minute Asmo Sorsa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aleksanteri Asukka saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ernesti Lotvonens short, quick shot in the 64thth minute got Joonatan Lindberg to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Teemu Santala received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Aleksanteri Asukka tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Joonatan Lindberg made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ernesti Lotvonen in the 73rd minute. 75 minutes into the game, Petri Kuusela was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Tunderi's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Zenit the free kick. In a very dangerous position, a player in Tunderi fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 74th minute. Penalty! Ernesti Lotvonen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpected shot in the 92nd minute by Ernesti Lotvonen got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Aleksanteri Asukka showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Asmo Sorsa, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. If Teemu Santala had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 98th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tunderi's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
