Otto Kopola did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 2-0 to the left of a surprised Raimo Järventie 15 minutes into the match. When Otto Kopola came up free with the goalie in the 20th minute, the JJ SumU Akatemia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Otto Kopola couldn't finish the play. Raimo Järventie made a fantastic save in the 26th minute, when Jesse Koivula sent off a good shot on target. Raimo Järventie took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Otto Kopola, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lapinjärvi's Raimo Järventie played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jesse Koivula in the 37th minute of play. In the 41st minute, Allan Pasoja hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jesse Koivula fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Raimo Järventie having to interfere. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Isko Forsman made a kick off. In the 53rd minute Isko Forsman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Untamo Masalin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 54 minutes into the match, Lapinjärvi's goal looked a bit too open when Otto Kopola came free, but Raimo Järventie reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 56 minutes into the match, Miikka Kallioniemi had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Untamo Masalin. JJ SumU Akatemia's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Miikka Kallioniemi was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. 59 minutes into the game, Jesse Koivula cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-1. Raimo Järventie was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 63rd minute, Kari Poikolainen left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Lapinjärvi fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-2. JJ SumU Akatemia's Eerik Myllynen was substituted for Pietari Sillgren. Kari Poikolainen hit a great ball. Kari Poikolainen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Untamo Masalin having to interfere. Untamo Masalin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Isko Forsman in the 96th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. JJ SumU Akatemia had won after a very even match.
