The referee ignored Sonboda FC's protests and gave Pasi Lumme a yellow card for diving instead. In the 41st minute of the match Tapani Tuovinen sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Erno Virtala skillfully saved the ball. After a rather tough play, Perhon Kiri's Konsta Juujärvi got a free kick in the 47th minute. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Aarni Nyyssönen to strike the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Perhon Kiri's zone, Aarni Nyyssönen stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Erno Virtala was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 71st minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Eero Kylmänen. Pietari Penttilä who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 73rdth minute tested the skills of Erno Virtala when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Sami Lähteenmäki took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aarni Nyyssönen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aarni Nyyssönen in the 80th minute of play forced Perhon Kiri's goalkeeper Sami Lähteenmäki to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 80 minutes into the game, Jyri Myllylä was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player.
