Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Isko Forsman got the match started through his kick off. Isko Forsman might have been able to make a better finish in the 14th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Nuutti Erkkilä. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Isko Forsman ran back to his position shaking his head. Kari Poikolainen's late challenge caught a Paalasmaa FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Kari Poikolainen helped the player get up and apologised. Kari Poikolainen could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 22nd minute of the match, but Nuutti Erkkilä made a huge save. Paalasmaa FC's Nuutti Erkkilä proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 30th minute of the match, managed to save Paalasmaa FC from getting a goal against them. A collision led to Paalasmaa FC getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Eerikki Seva hit a great ball. In the 33rd minute, Lapinjärvi's Kari Poikolainen ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Nuutti Erkkilä. Nuutti Erkkilä yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. After a defensive mix-up in Paalasmaa FC's zone, Isko Forsman stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nuutti Erkkilä came out of the goal and Isko Forsman tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Heino Kousa in the 44th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Raimo Järventie saved Lapinjärvi from getting behind. Miikka Kallioniemi struck a weak shot in the 46th minute. Nuutti Erkkilä didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Lapinjärvi. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Kalle Allen took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 52nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Raimo Järventie. Lapinjärvi's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Raimo Järventie stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ilkka Niinimäki's shot from short distance in the 54th minute. Isko Forsman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rainer Veikkanen during the 60th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Paalasmaa FC getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Rainer Veikkanen hit a great ball. After 69 minutes, Eerikki Seva mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Paalasmaa FC and the Lapinjärvi players grew even worse after the yellow card. Eerikki Seva kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. Kari Poikolainen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Nuutti Erkkilä tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as Heino Kousa kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Raimo Järventie. That made the score 2-2 in the 75 minute of play. A collision led to Lapinjärvi getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Jori Hartikainen hit a great ball. In the 83rd minute, Kalle Allen sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Lapinjärvi's Raimo Järventie didn't even have to move. Paalasmaa FC's Nuutti Erkkilä played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Isko Forsman in the 86th minute of play. In the 88th minute Isko Forsman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nuutti Erkkilä saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Lapinjärvi fans' excitement grew in the 90th match minute when Lapinjärvi's Isko Forsman looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene.
