The audience thought a goal was coming when Aukusti Hakala got free with Artturi Ruuttu in the 3rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 6th minute, Silvo Kulonen left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Kiimkallio IFK fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. 12 minutes into the match, Kiimkallio IFK's goalkeeper Artturi Ruuttu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Aukusti Hakala. After some fancy dribbling in the 14th minute, Silvo Kulonen managed to get in a good position for a shot. Kiimkallio IFK's supporters rose to their feet, but Silvo Kulonen was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Petri Mäkinen breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 16th minute Silvo Kulonen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Petri Mäkinen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Kiimkallio IFK's Artturi Ruuttu got control of the ball when Arvo Hänninen tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Joel Kunnas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a rather tough play, Kiimkallio IFK's Lari Koskinen got a free kick in the 30th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Vätti's zone, Silvo Kulonen stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Petri Mäkinen came out of the goal and Silvo Kulonen tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Joel Kunnas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Aukusti Hakala received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Artturi Ruuttu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Artturi Ruuttu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Launo Myllyniemi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Silvo Kulonen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 47th minute the ball was on its way in behind Vätti's goalkeeper Petri Mäkinen, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Joel Kunnas to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joel Kunnas in the 52nd minute of play forced Vätti's goalkeeper Petri Mäkinen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vätti's Launo Myllyniemi got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 59th minute, Osmo Paaso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Aukusti Hakala fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Artturi Ruuttu having to interfere. 70 minutes into the match, Joel Kunnas dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Petri Mäkinen, 0-2. Kiimkallio IFK's Silvo Palander got a good chance for a goal in the 75th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Artturi Ruuttu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aukusti Hakala in the 77th minute of play. Launo Myllyniemi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Artturi Ruuttu having to interfere. In the 83rd match minute, Kiimkallio IFK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jonne Turpeinen to maneuver through the defense. If Aukusti Hakala had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aukusti Hakala in the 96th minute of play forced Kiimkallio IFK's goalkeeper Artturi Ruuttu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Kiimkallio IFK had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
