Spectators: 6100 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 100) The supporters of Oxford United F.C. booed when Kuokkala was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jaakko Kapanen didn't get a good kick on the ball. Juhana Saarela fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jouko Kortelainen having to interfere. If Tarmo Rinne had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The crowd rose to their feet as Petteri Jämsänen kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Verneri Jantunen. That made the score 1-0 in the 12 minute of play. Petteri Jämsänen struck a weak shot in the 21st minute. Verneri Jantunen didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Kuokkala. Verneri Jantunen was out of position in the 26 minute of play, and Petteri Jämsänen capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Petteri Jämsänen really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Juhana Saarela in the 35th minute of play forced Kuokkala's goalkeeper Jouko Kortelainen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ossi Räikkönen hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. Verneri Jantunen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Petteri Jämsänen, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Lasse Hevonkorpi to strike the kick off in the second half. If Tarmo Rinne had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Juhana Saarela came up free with the goalie in the 60th minute, the Oxford United F.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Juhana Saarela couldn't finish the play. Taavetti Ruohiainen kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. In the 68th minute, Petteri Jämsänen ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Verneri Jantunen was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. Petteri Jämsänen's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Verneri Jantunen read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 73rd minute of play. After having played for 77 minutes, Petteri Jämsänen managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Kuokkala's supporters crossed their fingers, but Petteri Jämsänen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Tarmo Rinne fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Verneri Jantunen having to interfere. 85 minutes into the match, Kuokkala's goalkeeper Jouko Kortelainen had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Juhana Saarela. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tarmo Rinne in the 90th minute of play forced Oxford United F.C.'s goalkeeper Verneri Jantunen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 91 minutes into the match, Kuokkala's Petteri Jämsänen sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Verneri Jantunen narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Tarmo Rinne sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Kuokkala had won after a very even match.
