After 16 minutes of play Metalupuass's Sulho Hautaniemi was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After a defensive mix-up in Metalupuass's zone, Henrik Mikkola stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rafael Haapaniemi came out of the goal and Henrik Mikkola tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 90th minute Sipi Helin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but August Könönen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 92 minutes into the match, Metalupuass's Kerkko Paavola sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that August Könönen narrowly saved just below the crossbar. August Könönen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sipi Helin in the 93rd minute of the match. Metalupuass's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
