If Torsti Holmström had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 11th minute, Tenho Turpeinen made a precise shot to the right of Jarno Koivunen. FC Psyduck's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. After 15 played minutes Ihamäki got a freekick which was hit by Ahto Brinck. Jouko Tervonen was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Jorma Poikolainen showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-1 in the 23 minute of play. After 26 played minutes Ihamäki got a freekick which was hit by Tenho Turpeinen. Jouko Tervonen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anttoni Rontti, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jarno Koivunen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ilari Kultanen in the 29th minute of the match. Paul Laurila hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. In the 31stth minute of the game Tenho Turpeinen who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC Psyduck's Jarno Koivunen was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Jorma Poikolainen's late challenge caught a Ihamäki's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jorma Poikolainen helped the player get up and apologised. In the 32nd minute, Jorma Poikolainen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After recieving a nice pass, Ihamäki's Eero Junnila tried to score from far away in the 33rd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. In the 36th minute Tenho Turpeinen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jarno Koivunen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 38th minute Anttoni Rontti shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jouko Tervonen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ilari Kultanen in the 47th minute of play forced FC Psyduck's goalkeeper Jarno Koivunen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Torsti Holmström couldn't finish the play. 82 minutes into the match, Ihamäki's goal looked a bit too open when Anttoni Rontti came free, but Jouko Tervonen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Ahto Brinck fell near the penalty area in the 83rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ihamäki's protests and gave Ahto Brinck a yellow card for diving instead. Ahto Brinck hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. When Ilari Kultanen came up free with the goalie in the 87th minute, the Ihamäki fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ilari Kultanen couldn't finish the play. Jarno Koivunen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tenho Turpeinen, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. In the 90th minute, Ihamäki's Tenho Turpeinen dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-2. After some fancy dribbling in the 95th minute, Herkko Torkkeli managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ihamäki's supporters rose to their feet, but Herkko Torkkeli was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jarno Koivunen breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Ihamäki eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
