The Rattosjärvi fans' excitement grew in the 38th match minute when Rattosjärvi's Kaarlo Kampman looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The Leppada FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Rattosjärvi were winning 0-1.

Rattosjärvi's supporters rose to their feet, but Oiva Viljamaa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Herkko Laitila breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Through an outstanding action, after 72 minutes, Herkko Laitila successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Miika Ronkainen hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. Rattosjärvi's Oiva Viljamaa managed to work through Leppada FC's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Oiva Viljamaa dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. If Kaarlo Kampman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Oiva Viljamaa struck a weak shot in the 80th minute. Herkko Laitila didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Rattosjärvi. After having played for 86 minutes, Väinö Nurmi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Leppada FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Väinö Nurmi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Herkko Laitila showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kaarlo Kampman, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. In the 92nd minute Kaarlo Kampman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Herkko Laitila saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Kaarlo Kampman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
