A collision led to Pockar getting a freekick after 2 minutes play. Kalle Kivimäki hit a great ball. In the 6th minute Kaarlo Kampman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Veikko Venäläinen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Pockar's Veikko Venäläinen got control of the ball when Esko Rahkonen tried to sneak it across the goal line. Veikko Venäläinen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arho Hänninen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Veikko Venäläinen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kaarlo Kampman in the 11th minute of the match. In the 17th minute, Oiva Viljamaa reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Veikko Venäläinen. The goal made the score 1-0. In the 22nd match minute, Pockar was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Petri Kuusela to maneuver through the defense. Oiva Viljamaa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rattosjärvi's Sami Snellman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kalle Kivimäki in the 26th minute of play. In the 28th minute, Eero Viinanen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ensio Uusipaavalniemi, 29 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. 31 minutes into the match, Pockar's goal looked a bit too open when Arho Hänninen came free, but Veikko Venäläinen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Pockar defense, Esko Rahkonen kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Veikko Venäläinen. The Pockar fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Veikko Venäläinen should have stopped the shot. A collision led to Pockar getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Saku Eskola hit a great ball. A hard shot 36 in the game by Oiva Viljamaa from a close distance when the talented Veikko Venäläinen managed to make a qualified save. Pockar's players were relieved. Veikko Venäläinen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arho Hänninen in the 38th minute of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Kalle Kivimäki stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Pockar's Oskari Askolin got a free kick in the 65th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Esko Rahkonen in the 67th minute of play forced Pockar's goalkeeper Veikko Venäläinen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 69 minutes, Arho Hänninen managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Rattosjärvi's supporters crossed their fingers, but Arho Hänninen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Kaarlo Kampman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 75th minute, Pockar's Aleksi Paavola ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Sami Snellman. Sami Snellman yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-1. In the 84th minute of the game, Juha Heinikallio landed unfortunately after trying to head the ball, and pulled a muscle in the back, so badly that he had to leave the field. Toimi Känsäkangas charged in rather forcefully in the 84th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Toimi Känsäkangas the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Rattosjärvi booed when Pockar was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Toimi Känsäkangas didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 86th minute of the match Ensio Uusipaavalniemi sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Veikko Venäläinen skillfully saved the ball. In the 91st minute, Petri Kuusela hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Oiva Viljamaa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Veikko Venäläinen having to interfere.
