The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 5th match minute, Tennäs FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Onni Suoste to maneuver through the defense. Henrik Vallin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jukka-Pekka Airisto in the 7th minute of the match. After 10 played minutes Tennäs FC got a freekick which was hit by Kustaa Levokari. Ilmo Noponen's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Valentin Viander read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 14th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Amurin Tiikerit FC's Kalle Kärnä got a free kick in the 15th minute. In the 17th minute, Kalle Kärnä hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 31st minute of the match Amurin Tiikerit FC got a corner. Tennäs FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Henri Luoma ran over to the corner to take the kick. If Jukka-Pekka Airisto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 35 minutes into the match, Tennäs FC's goal looked a bit too open when Mikko Aalto came free, but Henrik Vallin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Tennäs FC's Kai Modig got a free kick in the 38th minute. In the 45th minute Ilmo Noponen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Valentin Viander saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 47 minutes, Ilkka Uusitalo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tennäs FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ilkka Uusitalo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ilmo Noponen made a kick off. Ilkka Uusitalo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 53rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Tennäs FC's zone, Mikko Aalto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Henrik Vallin came out of the goal and Mikko Aalto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 64th minute, Kullervo Kinnaslampi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Amurin Tiikerit FC booed when Tennäs FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Keijo Rautee didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mikko Aalto might have been able to make a better finish in the 68th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Henrik Vallin. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Mikko Aalto ran back to his position shaking his head. After 69 minutes, Kustaa Levokari mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Tennäs FC and the Amurin Tiikerit FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Tennäs FC's Kustaa Levokari got a free kick in the 69th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Tennäs FC's zone, Jukka-Pekka Airisto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Henrik Vallin came out of the goal and Jukka-Pekka Airisto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ilmo Noponen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Valentin Viander tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Valentin Viander showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ilkka Uusitalo, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. Jani Loukonen hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 82nd minute of the game. One of Tennäs FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Amurin Tiikerit FC:s goal. Henri Luoma placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! Jukka-Pekka Airisto might have been able to make a better finish in the 86th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Henrik Vallin. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jukka-Pekka Airisto ran back to his position shaking his head. Tennäs FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 93rd minute, when Jukka-Pekka Airisto scored to the left of an out of position Henrik Vallin, making the score, 0-1.
