Spectators: 7500 (Terracing: 5625, Seating: 1725, VIP seats: 150) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Sampo Vatanen started the match with the kick off. Daniel Venäläinen's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Onni Alatalo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 3rd minute of play. In the 5th minute, Lasse Hentunen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 13 minutes, Sampo Vatanen managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Liikkala IFK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sampo Vatanen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Antto Tallus fell near the penalty area in the 17th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Spikis's protests and gave Antto Tallus a yellow card for diving instead. Daniel Venäläinen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Samuel Sinisalo hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. If Daniel Venäläinen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 30 played minutes Liikkala IFK got a freekick which was hit by Raimo Enola. 33 minutes into the game, Spikis's Daniel Venäläinen nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Onni Alatalo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 37th minute, Aku Ruutu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Spikis's supporters rose to their feet, but Aku Ruutu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Onni Alatalo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Panu Hietalahti fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Onni Alatalo having to interfere. The throw-in from Olli Myllylä in the 40th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Spikis's Lasse Hentunen. After 41 minutes, Veli Pietiläinen mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Spikis and the Liikkala IFK players grew even worse after the yellow card. Tommi Pakarinen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sampo Vatanen in the 66th minute of play. In the 68th minute, Allan Viinikainen ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Onni Alatalo was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. Lasse Hentunen hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. In the 83rd minute, Panu Hietalahti ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Onni Alatalo was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Spikis walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
