Henrik Vallin didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Spikis. Ilmo Noponen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tommi Pakarinen having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ilkka Uusitalo in the 13th minute of play forced Spikis's goalkeeper Tommi Pakarinen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Onni Suoste took the ball and in the 16 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Tommi Pakarinen. Tommi Pakarinen dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. In the 24th minute Ilmo Noponen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tommi Pakarinen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 26th minute, Daniel Venäläinen fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Daniel Venäläinen scored 1-1 in the 29th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Henrik Vallin, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When Jani Loukonen fell near the penalty area in the 40th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Tennäs FC's protests and gave Jani Loukonen a yellow card for diving instead. In the 40th minute, Jani Loukonen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aku Ruutu in the 47th minute of play forced Tennäs FC's goalkeeper Henrik Vallin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Daniel Venäläinen stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Venäläinen in the 51st minute of play forced Tennäs FC's goalkeeper Henrik Vallin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The corner ended in Daniel Venäläinen almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Tennäs FC's Henrik Vallin did a great save. If Panu Hietalahti had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tommi Pakarinen acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 66th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Kai Modig. When Aku Ruutu came up free with the goalie in the 67th minute, the Spikis fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Aku Ruutu couldn't finish the play. In the 69th minute, Daniel Venäläinen left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Spikis fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. When Daniel Venäläinen came up free with the goalie in the 73rd minute, the Spikis fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Venäläinen couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Tennäs FC booed when Spikis was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Veli Pietiläinen didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, Spikis's Tommi Pakarinen got control of the ball when Ilkka Uusitalo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Panu Hietalahti recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 81st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Henrik Vallin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Venäläinen, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Onni Suoste during the 83rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 83rd minute, Onni Suoste hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tennäs FC's Henrik Vallin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Venäläinen in the 94th minute of play. When the referee ended the match the Spikis players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
