Lindal IFK's Karri Viitaluoma played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jari Kamppuri in the 3rd minute of play. Voitto Vappula fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Taavetti Pursiainen having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jari Kamppuri in the 8th minute of play forced Lindal IFK's goalkeeper Karri Viitaluoma to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Mormons FC fans' excitement grew in the 10th match minute when Mormons FC's Jari Kamppuri looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After some fancy dribbling in the 17th minute, Voitto Vappula managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lindal IFK's supporters rose to their feet, but Voitto Vappula was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Taavetti Pursiainen breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Aleksi Heliskoski kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. Voitto Vappula fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Taavetti Pursiainen having to interfere. Taavetti Pursiainen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Voitto Vappula, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 40th minute Jari Kamppuri shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Karri Viitaluoma saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Karri Viitaluoma showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jari Kamppuri in the 43rd minute of the match. Heimo Helminen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Karri Viitaluoma tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After the first half Mormons FC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Heimo Helminen made the kick off in the second half. Aukusti Mäkiaho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Karri Viitaluoma read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 52nd minute of play. Voitto Vappula fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Taavetti Pursiainen having to interfere. Voitto Vappula sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Mormons FC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
