An unexpectedly hard shot by Jari Varis in the 63rd minute of play forced Korsnös's goalkeeper Teijo Kopola to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Anssi Ihanamäki had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 71st minute, Aappo Vihtilä fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Aarne Niemelä, passed just outside the right post.
