Åbo United's Aapo Kurri played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Svante Åberg in the 20th minute of play. Into Wallden fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Malvin Elenes having to interfere. 24 minutes into the game, Elia Granati was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Vakkuri IFK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Åbo United the free kick. In the 31st minute Svante Åberg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aapo Kurri saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Aapo Kurri showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Svante Åberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. In the 34th minute of the match Vakkuri IFK got a corner. Åbo United's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Esa Laitila ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Vakkuri IFK's Esa Laitila to fire away a dangerous shot which Aapo Kurri despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. 35 minutes into the game, Paavo Kyrönlahti cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-4. Aapo Kurri was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Åbo United's Aapo Kurri played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Svante Åberg in the 40th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Åbo United's zone, Svante Åberg stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Aapo Kurri came out of the goal and Svante Åberg tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Into Wallden in the 45th minute of play forced Vakkuri IFK's goalkeeper Malvin Elenes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Åbo United's Saku Jatkola was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Malvin Elenes in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Esa Laitila made the kick off in the second half. Esa Laitila could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 52nd minute of the match, but Aapo Kurri made a huge save. If Into Wallden had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Malvin Elenes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rubens Paranaense, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. In the 60th minute, Saku Jatkola hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 66 minutes into the match, Vakkuri IFK's Esa Laitila sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Aapo Kurri narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 67th minute, Svante Åberg managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vakkuri IFK's supporters rose to their feet, but Svante Åberg was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Aapo Kurri breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Svante Åberg received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Aapo Kurri came out and tried to block the shot, but Svante Åberg slotted it home off the left post making it 0-6 in the 74th minute. 78 minutes into the game, Svante Åberg cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-7. Aapo Kurri was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Aapo Kurri showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Svante Åberg in the 83rd minute of the match. After 84 minutes Åbo United's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Esa Laitila who took care of the corner kick. In the 86th minute Vakkuri IFK were awarded a corner. Esa Laitila went to the cornerflag to take it. After some careless play in the Åbo United defense, Esa Laitila kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Aapo Kurri. The Åbo United fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Aapo Kurri should have stopped the shot. Antti Savijoki kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. If Esa Laitila had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 96 minutes into the match, Åbo United's Into Wallden sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Malvin Elenes narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Åbo United lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
