Mikael Puumala made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rainer Kärki in the 6th minute of play. Petes IFK's Mikael Puumala played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rainer Kärki in the 9th minute of play. Allan Jokilahti's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 10thth minute, Mikael Puumala skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 14th minute of the match, Rainer Kärki tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Mikael Puumala saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Ilkka Kuusiniemi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Voitto Huppunen, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. Öjnaa's Jarkko Halonen got a good chance for a goal in the 16th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Allan Jokilahti sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Thanks to some nice moves Klaus Kärnä could shoot a difficult shot in the 21st minute, which Mikael Puumala however easily saved by the left post. Mikael Puumala was out of position in the 21 minute of play, and Klaus Kärnä capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Klaus Kärnä really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. If Allan Jokilahti had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rami Häkkinen's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Mikael Puumala read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 28th minute of play. Allan Jokilahti fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mikael Puumala having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 35th minute, Rami Häkkinen managed to get in a good position for a shot. Öjnaa's supporters rose to their feet, but Rami Häkkinen was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mikael Puumala breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 38th minute Rainer Kärki shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mikael Puumala saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Rami Häkkinen came up free with the goalie in the 42nd minute, the Öjnaa fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rami Häkkinen couldn't finish the play. Allan Jokilahti's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Mikael Puumala read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 44th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Aki Tähtinen got free with Ilkka Kuusiniemi in the 66th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 68 minutes into the match, Öjnaa's goal looked a bit too open when Alvar Nitti came free, but Ilkka Kuusiniemi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Petes IFK's Mikael Puumala played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Klaus Kärnä in the 72nd minute of play. After 72 minutes, Toimi Salminen mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Petes IFK and the Öjnaa players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Öjnaa booed when Petes IFK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Toimi Salminen didn't get a good kick on the ball. Allan Jokilahti sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Klaus Kärnä had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Allan Jokilahti struck a weak shot in the 80th minute. Mikael Puumala didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Öjnaa. After having played for 81 minutes, Jarkko Halonen managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Öjnaa's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jarkko Halonen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Risto Sainomaa took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 85th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Ilkka Kuusiniemi. Öjnaa's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After 87 minutes of play, Petes IFK's Aki Tähtinen made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ilkka Kuusiniemi was left in no man's land by his defense there! Voitto Huppunen charged in rather forcefully in the 89th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Voitto Huppunen the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Petes IFK getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Voitto Huppunen hit a great ball. When Rainer Kärki came up free with the goalie in the 91st minute, the Öjnaa fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rainer Kärki couldn't finish the play. Öjnaa were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
