Sippolanperä's Matti Torkkeli played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vilppu Antila in the 39th minute of play. Matti Torkkeli made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sulevi Tuomisalo in the 44th minute. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-1 at half-time.

Sippolanperä's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Tapio Pesonen in the 53rd minute.
