Spectators: 8487 (Terracing: 6367, Seating: 1951, VIP seats: 169) 3 minutes into the match, East Kontula's goal looked a bit too open when Markku Ahmaoja came free, but Jori Kokko reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jori Kokko showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Markku Ahmaoja in the 6th minute of the match. Strandbyn's defense didn't have a chance, in the 11th minute, when Tapio Sjögren scored to the left of an out of position Ylermi Kanto, making the score, 1-0. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ossi Blom during the 18th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 19 played minutes East Kontula got a freekick which was hit by Ossi Blom. In the 23rd minute, Markku Ahmaoja ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jori Kokko was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Ylermi Kanto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ossi Blom in the 31st minute of play. The audience was convinced that Tapio Sjögren's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ylermi Kanto was relentless in the 35th minute of the game. After 37 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Strandbyn! Ylermi Kanto came out of the goal in the 39th minute to try and stop a shot by East Kontula's Juha Roiha. But to his dismay, Juha Roiha quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Tapio Sjögren received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Ylermi Kanto came out and tried to block the shot, but Tapio Sjögren slotted it home off the left post making it 3-1 in the 44th minute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Tapio Sjögren made a kick off. Visa Hakaniemi hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. Joonas Rosendahl scored 4-1 in the 59th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ylermi Kanto, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Jori Kokko made an important save on a dangerous shot by Markku Ahmaoja in the 68th minute. Ylermi Kanto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ossi Blom, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 70th minute, Erkki Puranen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jori Kokko made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arsi Kaitainen in the 74th minute of play. Markku Ahmaoja received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Jori Kokko tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 85th minute of the game Esko Uusipaavalniemi made a throw-in which Edvard Kaarniemi played forward. Strandbyn's Ylermi Kanto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tapio Sjögren in the 89th minute of play. Ylermi Kanto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edvard Kaarniemi, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. In the 91st match minute, Strandbyn was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ari Viander to maneuver through the defense. Juha Roiha recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ylermi Kanto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tapio Sjögren, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. East Kontula were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Strandbyn for a fine match.
